With PTE Essentials, you can have complete manual control of your exe show with many, many features not even found in ProshowProducer. PTE Essentials also has full keyframing ability - something not possible with Proshow Gold. PTE uses hardware rendering so that the video card (GPU) can be used to give ultra smooth animations. You can also do something really cool with PTE Essentials that you can't do with Gold or Producer and that is you can have an uninterrupted video stream as a background while still images are being run sequentially. Multiple videos can be played simultaneously by adding videos to separate layers. Audio tracks can be added in an unlimited fashion. You can also have unlimited layers and you have 3D transform availability. The limits are only imposed by the hardware you have and the limits of a 32 bit system. With PicturesToExe (PTE) you can have literally unlimited audio tracks and picture (object) or video tracks. PicturesToExe Essentials is much more powerful than ProshowGold in many ways. Perhaps I can help shed some light on this subject. Is there any way of producing a file that can be stopped and started and can what PSG creates do this? I understand that P2E creates an exe file. How many picture/video track can it have? has PSG resolved its issue of degrading picture quality? Anyone know how they compare in the current century/versions. However, most reviews and discussions are ancient. I have waded through lots of discussions and read various reviews on ProShow Gold and PicturesToExe Essentials (Can't afford deluxe) and the general feeling I get is that P2E is better quality output and more flexible/customizable but PSG is easier to get to grips with.
It is mainly aimed at video but I find that if you crop a photo or try to zoom in the original high quality is rubbished.
Up to now I have been using Cyberlink PowerDirector which I like because it's easy to get started but can be delved into for more advanced stuff. I'm looking for a slideshow editor that can also incorporate video.
